Embrace the magic of a winter wedding at Wasing Park

Interior of the Castle Barn at Wasing Park

Wasing Park, the nationally renowned luxury wedding venue nestled in the Berkshire countryside, invites couples to embrace the magic of a winter wedding.

Widely regarded as one of the UK's finest wedding destinations, Wasing offers a beautifully unique alternative to the traditional summer affair. With enchanting ceremony spaces, sweeping countryside views, exclusive seasonal touches and a genuine commitment to sustainability, Wasing sets the stage for a truly unforgettable winter celebration, immersed in nature.

Located just an hour from London, Wasing Park is a beautifully restored farm hamlet set amidst rolling Berkshire countryside and tranquil gardens that flourish year-round. With exclusive-use hire, the venue provides a private and intimate, fully customisable setting.

At the heart of Wasing Park lies the Grade II listed Castle Barn—a characterful blank canvas where soft red brick walls, oak beams, and arrow slits evoke timeless charm. In winter, it transforms into a reception space of fairytale warmth: picture the soft glow of flameless candles lining beams and tables, tea lights nestled in rustic alcoves, and emerald green Christmas trees laced with twinkling fairylights.

Wasing Park offers two characteristic ceremony spaces for winter weddings, each providing a picturesque backdrop for couples' special day. The newly renovated Garden Room, with rustic oak beams, aged brickwork, and sliding barn doors, offers a warm, inviting backdrop for seasonal ceremonies. Nestled in frost-kissed gardens, its bi-fold glass doors reveal breathtaking views of the Castle Barn, effortlessly accommodating up to 160 guests. For those dreaming of a traditional ceremony straight out of a winter wonderland, the 13th-century Parish Church of St Nicholas is the perfect setting. With beautiful stained-glass windows and candlelit altar, gently dusted with snow, it provides a timeless backdrop for intimate ceremonies of up to 100 guests.

Add a touch of seasonal charm to a drinks reception with mulled wine, winter Pimm's, or a warming alcohol-free Savernake Presse, crafted from estate-grown apples. Delight guests with comforting canapés like mini fish and chips or Yorkshire puddings made with roast beef from the estate's organic farm—part of the exquisite new nose-to-tail menu. As evening falls, gather beneath the stretch tent on the Castle Barn terrace to toast marshmallows, continue the festivities with a hot toddy station, or retire to the Stables Lodge—a decadent post-party bar offering the perfect cozy setting for a nightcap.

Nod to the season with jewel-toned floral arrangements, enriched by lush greenery—ivy, mistletoe, and moss—sustainably foraged from the estate's gardens. For a personal touch, couples can dry their own hydrangea heads—lovingly grown in the walled garden on site—while charming potted hyacinths, hellebore bulbs, or winter roses lend seasonal freshness to table décor and serve as living gifts for guests to nurture as lasting reminders of the day.

Wasing Park seamlessly blends style with sustainability, weaving timeless elegance and eco-consciousness into every detail of the wedding experience. The organic farm embraces a regenerative approach, supplying ethically raised produce—including nose-to-tail beef—to the estate-to-plate menu, while the estate's biomass heating system is sustainably fuelled by wood chips from the woodlands.

Wedding favours reflect this ethos. New for this season, couples can delight guests with charming mini bottles of Wasing Gin, sweet jars of Wasing Honey harvested from the estate's own hives or delicate candles made from honey and wax gathered onsite. Bring joy to the colder months with a winter wedding to look forward to. Savings can be made with winter celebrations at Wasing, alongside greater flexibility and a better chance of securing your ideal date. Couples planning intimate mid-week weddings of 30–35 guests can also enjoy added benefits, including the potential for exclusive use of the Stables Lodge for a drinks reception—or even extend the joy with a two-day celebration, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The venue boasts 26 stylishly appointed bedrooms, sleeping 64 guests, each uniquely designed, with an elegant modern twist in a historical setting. Highlights include the Honeymoon Suite, a spacious former hayloft now home to the biggest bed in Berkshire; The Granary, still standing on its staddle stones, now a luxurious suite with a copper bathtub; The Smithy, the old blacksmiths' workshop featuring an Emperor bed and a spacious en-suite; and The Dovecote, a magical suite with a custom-made triangular bed and original dove boxes filled with fairylights. There are also 17 characterful rooms in the Stables, the Mews, and the Pump House. Kitts Cottage offers complimentary accommodation for the night before the wedding, sleeping up to seven guests, and Home Farmhouse, a cosy retreat sleeping up to 12 people, is perfect for groomsmen and families attending extended celebrations. The Groom's Room is also available on the morning of the wedding; a stylish space to get suited and booted, and enjoy a pre-wedding tipple before the big day.

Wasing Park now offers bespoke 2-to-3-day wedding experiences that create a destination feel within the UK. Regardless of the season, couples can enjoy extended celebrations with a host of unique activities—from cozy welcome dinners and winter walks through frost-kissed woodlands to intimate cocktail masterclasses set amidst the estate's stunning grounds. In summer, think croquet and garden games, Pimm's-filled picnics in the woodlands, or even a family-and-friends cricket match at Wasing's Cricket Pavilion—all providing the perfect backdrop for creating lasting memories.

As part of several innovative features designed to captivate and delight couples and their guests, Wasing offers bridal parties exclusive, year-round access to its secluded woodland lake—a serene escape into nature before the big day. Couples can choose from a host of unique, fully customisable experiences, from rejuvenating wild swimming, warming Scandinavian wood-fired saunas, invigorating ice baths, massage therapy, to lakeside catering—all overseen by a dedicated Wellbeing Host to ensure a seamless experience.
