De Vere Wokefield Estate launches ‘Bark-quet Menu’ for dogs

De Vere Wokefield Estate in Berkshire

De Vere Wokefield Estate, located near Reading and part of De Vere's collection of historic mansion house estates and contemporary hotels, has launched the Bark-quet Menu for couples who want to include their dogs in their big day.

As more couples opt for pet-inclusive weddings, De Vere Wokefield Estate is embracing the trend by offering four-legged friends a seat at the table. The Bark-quet Menu features a curated selection of dog-safe delicacies including a Doggy Daiquiri (a cool blend of watermelon and banana), a Paw-tini (a refreshing blend of chicken broth and fresh herbs), Barkcuterie Boards (carrot sticks, apple slices, and dog biscuits), Canine Comfort (a hearty mix of rice, green beans and grilled chicken), and a scoop of Jude's dog-friendly vanilla ice cream.

Nestled in 250 acres of Berkshire parkland, De Vere Wokefield Estate offers a choice of stunning wedding spaces, from the elegant Lincoln Suite to the light-filled Terrace Suite overlooking manicured lawns, both have direct outdoor access. Outdoor ceremonies are also available, with picturesque views and plenty of space for dogs to roam.

The Bark-quet Menu is just £15 per dog, and four-legged guests can even enjoy an overnight stay with the newlyweds in the honeymoon suite, complete with a De Vere dog bed, bowl, and plenty more treats awaiting their arrival.

Peter Sangster, venue director at De Vere Wokefield Estate, commented: "We've seen an increasing number of couples looking to include their dog on their wedding day. Typically, dogs at weddings have the role of being the ring bearer or are chaperoned to the venue for some photos. However, we wanted to go one step further to ensure our couples feel like their dogs are part of their whole day and what better way to make them feel welcome with their own Bark-quet Menu?!"

De Vere Wokefield Estate, the former home of the Plowden family, is a historic mansion house hotel nestled in 250 acres of Berkshire parkland. Guests visiting can play on the 18-hole Championship golf course, which has been designed to US PGA standards and even practice on the all-weather driving range. The hotel also has tennis courts and a newly refurbished gym with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment. Onsite there's two restaurants, including The View, serving up British dishes with a French twist and the Tapas at 1560, where an authentic selection of tapas dishes and paellas are served in the mansion house.

Guests staying at De Vere Wokefield Estate are welcome to bring their dogs for £30 per dog, per stay. The fee includes a dog bed, food and water bowls, and a selection of treats provided in the room for the duration of the stay.
