Prue Leith has been announced as the food legend to open Marlow's Pub in the Park on Thursday, 15th May. Leith joins a long line of legends such as Mary Berry, Marco Pierre White, Raymond Blanc OBE, and Rick Stein, who have previously opened the event alongside its founder, Tom Kerridge.
The evening will be an all-star charity event raising money for the festival's charity, Meals from Marlow. Famous names from the food, music and television industries will be joining in the fun and supporting the charity.
Meals from Marlow was launched five years ago by Tom Kerridge to help key workers in the pandemic. The charity kept going and has recently delivered its 250,000th meal to people in need in and around the area.
For those who are yet to purchase their tickets, from now until opening night, any general admission tickets purchased will have £10 donated to Meals from Marlow. Guests are also able to purchase Super Donor Tickets, which include VIP access along with a food and drink offering, £300. When purchased, £250 is donated to Meals from Marlow.
Chris Hughes, Pub in the Park co-founder, comments: "We are thrilled to have Prue on board to open our Gala Charity night. We are extremely proud of our team and everything that we have achieved so far with Meals from Marlow. We look forward to continuing to drive this initiative to greater heights and supporting those who need it the most."
Pub in the Park is a tribute to the best of the Great British Pub, where delicious food, fantastic drinks, and unforgettable live music come together for guests to experience the ultimate cutting-edge of gastropub cuisine. Delicious gourmet food and drink experiences will be available across all four festivals, including Fire Pit Masterclasses, exclusive Q&A from the chefs, demonstrations in The Miele Kitchen Studio, independent producers, plus so much more. Delicious drinks will be on offer across the festival, including England's leading winemaker, Chapel Down, as the sparkling wine sponsor.
