De Vere Wokefield Estate, a mansion house hotel near Reading, has been awarded gold accreditation in the Green Tourism Certification Programme, which recognises the commitment of tourism businesses which are actively working to become more sustainable. De Vere Wokefield Estate focuses on three key pillars to help improve sustainability, which include its day-to-day operations, the people at the heart of its community, and its valued supply chain.

De Vere Wokefield Estate is proud to now use 100% renewable energy and relies on the combination of biomass, wind, hydro and solar, to power the hotel. Earlier this year De Vere Wokefield Estate also unveiled new electric vehicle charging points, available for guests to use during their stay.

Peter Sangster, the venue director at De Vere Wokefield Estate, commented, "Achieving the gold Green Tourism Award is testament to all of the teams hard work and passion to consistently improve sustainability at De Vere Wokefield Estate. The team are constantly striving to implement new sustainable practices and it's rewarding to be recognised by Green Tourism as they're acknowledged worldwide as the hallmark of sustainability quality."

De Vere Wokefield Estate has recently unveiled its new mansion house concept, De Vere Reserve at Wokefield House, the former home of the Plowden family. De Vere Reserve encapsulates the very best that De Vere properties have to offer, with recently refurbished bedrooms, new Penhaligon's toiletries, and thoughtful finishing touches to make every moment memorable. Guests checking into De Vere Reserve suites at De Vere Wokefield Estate will experience the grandeur of the historic properties, combined with upgraded amenities and service.
