The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has recently opened a new rooftop dining room and outdoor terrace. This hidden gem is an oasis of calm high above the busy city centre of Oxford. It's bathed in natural daylight that pours through the floor-to-ceiling windows and reflects the glittering lights of the city by night. It's the perfect choice for a morning ceremony, wedding breakfast or anniversary celebration.
The Terrace offers an elegant outdoor space where couples can mingle with their guests and admire the magical view while enjoying champagne and canapés. Guests can then take their seats for a fine dining experience, followed by dancing with a late bar in the vaulted downstairs area.
The Ashmolean team believes that weddings can be kinder to the planet without compromising on style or quality, suppliers are chosen carefully, and local, seasonal produce and wines are used where possible. Everybody is passionate about upholding responsibility for the environmental impact of weddings and the venue is proud to have been awarded accreditation from the Sustainable Wedding Alliance.
The museum's many awe-inspiring spaces include the Atrium, Ceremony Room, European Art Gallery, The Restaurant and The Vaults – plus the Grand Staircase which provides a real focal point!
