The couple became engaged after two years during a romantic proposal at home. "I asked Jordan to marry me," Aaron says. "I had run him a hot bath and jumped in too! I asked him whether he ever wanted to get married to which he replied yes so I grabbed the ring that I had previously hidden behind a shampoo bottle and popped the question - he said "yes" straight away!"
The couple fell in love with Lillibrooke Manor on arrival. "We had visited a few wedding venues beforehand but both adored this one," Aaron tells us. "It offered us the opportunity to say our vows in front of our 85 guests in a small barn against the beautiful backdrop of a window overlooking the manicured grounds. On the day itself, the service, food, and attention to detail was above and beyond anything that we expected and to top it off, we had bright sunshine all day."
Their flower fairy theme complete with pastel flowers and vintage props worked perfectly at the choice of venue. "Jordan crafted our table plan himself with each of the ten tables named after a different flower fairy plus he hand-moulded the soaps that we gave as favours and put 60 hours of work into our nine-tier flower fairy cake," Aaron tells us. "He is a cake decorator and owns The Phresh Prince of Buttercream business so it was always going to be a showstopper!"
The couple also had centrepieces of pastel coloured blooms mixed with foliage sat on logslices surrounded by candles in jars and fairytrinkets, and they displayed old-fashioned props around the venue including retro suitcases and wooden crates, pieces of upcycled furniture, and a 1930s Singer sewing machine.
Aaron and Jordan visited lots of shops searching for the perfect suits. "We wanted matching navy slim-fit tweed styles," Aaron tells us. "Eight months before our wedding, we took a trip to my hometown in Northern Ireland where we found the perfect Marc Darcy-inspired look.
We opted for a racing green slim-fit tweed suit with a burgundy roll neck jumper for our groomsmen that worked well with our theme, and our bridesmaids looked beautiful in their minimalist peach dresses featuring a high collar and an open back."
"Our special day and evening were hosted by our very good friend Andrew Donnell," the couple revealed. "He is a natural at keeping things running smoothly and adding some humour! During the drinks reception and ceremony, we had a cello player who helped to create a sophisticated and relaxed ambience.
For the evening entertainment, Academy Productions took control and did a fantastic job by tailoring the music to our taste which included a wide selection of multiple genres to appeal to all of our guests. We choreographed a routine for our first dance which went down well and Drew Diva ensured that our loved ones were entertained for the entire evening!"
"We both felt so overwhelmed with the love that we received from everyone on our special day. Guests travelled from as far as California, Germany, Sweden and Ireland to celebrate with us and to have all of our loved ones gathered in one place was a wonderful feeling. The poem prepared by Aaron's mum added an extra-special touch."
