I was excited to get to work on compiling this issue because my cousin, Kirsty got married to her new hubby, Sean in Chipping Norton recently and I couldn’t wait to feature their special day which was decorated with a pretty blush-pink and sage-green colour theme. I’m delighted for them both and wish them all the very best for their married life together.

De Vere Wokefield Estate
This Grade 11 listed mansion house hotel, part of the De Vere portfolio of country estate hotels and event destinations, sits within 250 acres of picturesque parkland. A £ 20 million refurbishment saw the renovation of an additional 37 luxury bedrooms, the introduction of a golf driving range and the renovation of its modern event destination, Wokefield Place.
Offering 87 luxury guest rooms in the Mansion House, and a further 289 bedrooms in Wokefield Place and Wellington Lodge, each one showcases luxurious, distinctly British interiors blending a heritage colour palette of muted greens, greys, taupe and cream with contemporary fixtures and fittings to create spaces that are restful and calming. Classic Roberts radios, quality toiletries and smart TVs are just some of the features provided.
The 90-seater 1560 Restaurant & Bar in the Mansion House serves a British-inspired menu, alongside a range of craft beers, wines and classic cocktails. The Whiskey Lounge is another drinking establishment and stylish restaurant The View, and Benedict’s Bar located in Wokefield Place, all offer a range of delicious dishes, plus an outdoor pizza oven has also been introduced on the terrace.
Ceremonies and receptions take place inside the Mansion House in the elegant Terrace Suite which boasts direct access to a private terrace overlooking the lake and it’s own bar. There’s also the Lincoln Suite, a dual-aspect room with views stretching across the lawns which offers an alternatice ceremony spot during summer.
The Wokefield Suite inside Wokefield Place accommodates up to 400 guests for a ceremony or reception and offers a blank canvas that can be transformed to suit any wedding theme. Intimate celebrations can enjoy the Palmer Suite, Old Lounge and Mortimer Suite home to original features and chandeliers.

| Hurley House Hotel in Berkshire launches Omakase Sushi Bar |

Hurley House Hotel is a privately owned exclusive and luxury boutique hotel and licensed wedding venue that specialises in bespoke events for up to 160 guests seated including weddings, private parties and special celebrations. It's set in a countryside location in Hurley close to Henley-on-Thames, Marlow and Maidenhead and recently unveiled its Japanese Omakase Sushi Bar. Bassam Shlewet, Hurley House's managing director tells us, "Our aim has always been to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Having first introduced Japanese cuisine to the area in July 2019, it was only natural for us to extend our offering to include an authentic Japanese experience. Omakase, which translates as 'Leave it to me, is a unique dining ritual, in which your meal is carefully chosen and crafted by the head sushi chef right in front of you."
