Yes, it’s that magical time of the year once again! I don’t know about you but this year has passed by quickly for me, and luckily it has been a wonderful one. We’ve celebrated my mum and dad’s Golden Wedding Anniversary, we’re looking forward to welcoming our Australian relatives to the UK this Christmas and my brother and sister-in-law are having their first baby this December which is the best present ever! I also managed to take a couple of sun-drenched trips this year, including to Oia in Santorini where I stayed at the fabulous Villa Mellow, booked through The Greek Villas and to Athens where I was very spoilt in the rooftop 501 Milos Terrace Suite at boutique hotel xenodocheio Milos. Read all about these wonderful properties, perfect for honeymooners in my Greece is the word review on page 92.
To celebrate the festive period, we’ve compiled a seasonal issue for you to enjoy. There’s everything from summery-themed real weddings and a colourful styled shoot for couples planning al fresco nuptials next year to snow-capped venues perfect for winter weddings. Missenden Abbey
This exclusive-use, 12th-century medieval Abbey has been lovingly transformed into a wedding venue marrying history with a contemporary feel. The main house boasts exquisite architectural details including unique stained-glass windows and a decorative staircase providing the perfect backdrop for big-day photos.
Outside, the beautifully maintained gardens set in 10 acres of picturesque grounds in the heart of the Chilterns are home to a summerhouse, a fish pond and a water feature plus a wonderful 500-year-old Cedar tree and the entire house and grounds are available exclusively for weddings.
Ceremonies take place in the Garden Room where the bridal party enter from the stunning staircase. This elegant room can can seat up to 100 guests. A drinks reception can be held outside in the picturesque grounds or, in the event of bad weather, inside the Garden Room, Bar or Library. The wedding breakfast can be hosted in the adjoining dining rooms with historic details including vaulted ceilings and stained-glass windows for up to 115 guests and a summer option is a seasonal marquee with a starlit canopy accommodating up to 150 people.

| David Bostock Photography announces award win |
| |
Photographer David Bostock has just been awarded a Fellowship qualification from the Master Photographers Association (FMPA) with a stunning panel of images of black and white wedding photography, which is David's speciality. The five judges commented on the unique style of the images within the panel (all shot on a Cannon 5Dmk4 or R5 or R6 camera) that, when viewed together, formed a cohesive body of work. The commitment to producing photographs of sheer quality was obvious to every member of the judging team. Fellowship of the MPA is a very difficult qualification to achieve within the photographic profession, as this takes a great deal of time, work and dedication to your art to reach this level. There are only four master photographers with a Fellowship in Wedding Photography in the UK and David, based on the borders of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire is now one of them.
