Say I do with these 5 tips on saving for a wedding
Your wedding is likely to be one of the most important days of your life. While the day itself...
So... you didn't get an invite to Harry and Meghan's special day. Never mind! Here at Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding, we've got some Windsor-related suggestions to help you plan your own majestic wedding.
First of all, popular Windsor bakery Heidi has offered to send complimentary cakes to couples set to share their wedding day with Prince Harry and his fiancee, Meghan Markle. The cakes will consist of a dark chocolate mousse with a passion fruit centre and sponge base, and will be decorated with a mirror glaze, handmade macarons and the husband and wife to-be's names.
The bakery made the decision after hearing that a number of local couples are concerned that the weddings they've been planning for months might be overshadowed by the royal nuptials. As Heidi's director, Edward Durkin, said, “The royal wedding is a joyous occasion, but so is every other wedding happening across the country on 19th May. We wanted to do something that would make these people's wedding days extra special.”
To have your wedding honoured by the bakery, those sharing their big day with Harry and Meghan must send an email to press@heidibakery.co.uk before 15th May with proof of the wedding date to receive a complimentary cake. Cakes available are limited, so it's first come, first served!
And even if you're not planning to tie the knot on the 19th, luxury country house hotel and spa, Coworth Park is currently running a royal wedding afternoon tea – perfect for an afternoon planning your own wedding with friends and family, especially if you're after some of that Windsor magic.
With ingredients sourced from the finest British suppliers, the afternoon tea will include finger sandwiches (with the roast beef sourced from nearby Windsor Estate and the eggs taken from Royal Legbar), traditional scones and delectable pastries fit for royalty. The pastries include a chocolate brownie tart with salted caramel (as the royals are all rumoured to love chocolate), as well as a lemon and elderflower drizzle cake, the flavour of Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding cake. An Earl Grey tea mousse with apricot and vanilla will also be served as a nod to HRH The Queen and her favourite tea. A glass of Windsor Estate sparkling wine will also accompany the tea.
Available until Monday, May 28, 2018 the tea is priced at £35 per person or £50 per person served with a glass of Windsor Estate sparkling wine. To find out more about Coworth Park, go to www.coworthpark.com.
