Keep your wedding scheme alive at home
It's no surprise couples often suffer from the wedding blues after their nuptials, but with peak wedding...
The longest-trading bridalwear business in Milton Keynes, Lesley Cutler Bridal Wear, recently celebrated its first quarter-century, and is still going strong. Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding talks to Lesley about her business... "We create a luxury bridal experience like no other as ideas are turned from a simple sketch to a statement dress," says Lesley. "We invite brides-to-be, mature brides and mothers-of-the-bride by appointment only to discuss their dream garments at our studio. We are absolutely passionate about helping women look and feel the very best version of themselves on their special day. "The process of having a wedding dress custom made for you is a truly special experience. We give our customers our undivided attention in order to achieve their perfect, handmade, dream dress. "We offer a bespoke, one-off service to turn brides’ ideas and dreams into a reality. As part of the design process, a calico toile (mock up) of the design is made so our brides are able to try it on before the garment is made in the actual silk fabric. Everything is made in-house from the veils, jewellery and tiaras and any colour can be perfectly matched. "We require at least six months to create a perfect handmade dress and we include unlimited fittings to achieve perfection. The fabrics we offer are the same as the highest quality silks used by the top designers. As a fully-trained pattern cutter we are able to make any style of garment completely from scratch, regardless of how complicated or elaborate it may be. Our bespoke dresses start from £1,900. "To make the most of the experience, we encourage brides to come along with ideas and do some research on which styles they like and what suits then. We’ll then work together to create the ultimate perfect gown. Luxurious and sophisticated, it will be exactly as you dreamed and envisioned."
I'm incredibly proud of the journey we've been on,” says Lesley, who started her professional life working with Elizabeth Emanuel and Jenny Packham. The wedding dress designer now makes bespoke garments for brides, bridesmaids and mothers-of-the-bride and mothers-of-the-groom.
