Flapjackery, offering artisan flapjacks handmade in Devon, has just received four Golds at the Taste of the West Awards, the South West's prestigious food, drink and hospitality awards. The four luxurious products awarded were a lemon drizzle flapjack, peanut butter brownie flapjack (made using Freda's 'Gold' award-winning peanut butter), traditional flapjack and burnt caramel and sea salt-flavoured flapjack.
Co-founder Carol Myott tells us, "We set up Flapjackery six years ago following lots of comments about how good our flapjacks tasted. The last couple of years have not been easy because of the lockdown, but we have kept going and are delighted to have received these awards which are testament to the team's hard work and determination."
Fellow co-founder Sally Jenkin adds, "These flapjacks are hugely popular at our new Flapjackery stores in Wells and Minehead as well as our first shop in Tavistock."
Judged by the most astute palates of chefs, buyers, retailers and food writers, the Taste of the West Awards is a renowned accreditation for artisan producers, cafés and restaurants, providing an opportunity for them to gain recognition for their products and services. The awards celebrate the quality, integrity and provenance of food in the region and seek to promote local produce that goes above and beyond in terms of quality and taste. The unmistakable logo is a clear signal for an outstanding product that has met rigorous judging criteria.
