Say I do with these 5 tips on saving for a wedding
Your wedding is likely to be one of the most important days of your life. While the day itself...
Reading's baking extraordinaire, Sarah of Tiny Sarah's Cakes talks about her business, from how she started off on her baking journey to her favourite wedding cake designs and flavours!
Where did your journey in to baking begin?Sarah says, "I started baking quite late in life, for friends at the weekends! We used to go to one of my friends' room in the dorm and have tea and cake to chill after studying hard. I loved making cakes and sharing them - and when I found out I could make cakes that were delicious to eat but also super beautiful to look at, I decided that's what I wanted to do!"
What's your favourite part of wedding cake designing/making? The decorating part is my favourite and I just love making all my little figurines, and putting everything on the cake. It really comes alive then! I also love the few times I set up the cake at a venue and I get to see the couple. It's very rare but oh so lovely!
What's been your favourite cake design so far/why? That is such a hard question. I have loved all the cakes I made so far but this one is definitely one of my favourites - mermaids and robots for a truly epic wedding!
Top wedding tip for couples? Don't sweat it. Your wedding is a party - at no point should planning it become stressful or uncomfortable. Make your planning sessions into fun moments: grab a cuppa or wine, cake or peanuts, put some nice music on and ENJOY.
What's your go-to comfort-eating dessert? Chocolate cake FOREVER. I partly became a cake maker so I could eat the stuff!
