Marie and Daniel set sail on their journey of a lifetime with a spectacular send-off at Bearwood Lakes.
Marie Beazley, 40, married Daniel Gratton, 44, at St Peter's Church, Earley, with a reception at Bearwood Lakes, on 21st July, 2018.
We always wanted to get married at St Peter 's Church in Lower Earley. We both went to school next door. I used to live off Church Road, and I was christened at the church.
My dress was made by Essense and fitted perfectly. My veil was handmade for me with beautiful diamantés.
I wanted to buy dresses that the girls could wear again and chose navy summer dresses. My bridesmaids were so grateful for the style because the weather was exceptionally hot!
Our vicar, Hannah Hobday, conducted a wonderful ceremony. I lost my father to cancer, so it was very emotional for me. Having my mum walk me down the aisle was a moment I will never forget.
We had the Beatles song All You Need Is Love playing as we left the church, and all our guests were smiling.
We hired a beautiful car, which made us feel like royalty. Every time someone beeped at us, the car beeped back with a honk sound, which made us chuckle.
Bearwood Lakes was perfect. Not only was it close to the church and for family and friends, but the venue and grounds were also absolutely stunning. And the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome.
We had a nautical theme. I used to work on cruise ships as a dancer and singer, and we both love our holidays and trips away by the sea. With Danny proposing on water, it was the perfect theme.
Our wonderful florist, Alexandra Revenko, made my flower handbag and the flowers for the groomsmen, mother-of-the-bride, mother-of-the-groom and top table. Everything was stunning, especially the rope and wheel entwined with flowers.
For centrepieces, we had lighthouses with drift wood and candles around them. And for favours, I made pearl bracelets for the ladies and brought personalised bottle opener key rings for the men.
Our nautical cake had three tiers: carrot cake, chocolate mint and Victoria sponge.
We didn't realise until a few weeks before our wedding that our singer, Adam Isaac, had been on The Voice in Tom Jones' team and had got through to the semi-finals. His voice is exceptional, and he was one of the highlights of the day.
Our first dance was to Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart.
