Ufton Court
If you’re looking for something off the beaten track, then Ufton Court could be for you. Situated in gorgeous countryside on the Berkshire/Hampshire borders, this Grade I Tudor manor house and Tithe Barn is full of delights, with ancient oaks lining the driveway and a plethora of seasonal flowers, from snowdrops and daffodils to bluebells, roses and lavender.
Choose from three locations for your ceremony, from the traditional and stately Long Ceremony Room, the oak-beamed Archer’s Hall and the 16th-century Tithe Barn, accommodating up to 50, 80 and 150 of your loved ones respectively. The venue is full of quirky spots for big-day photos, including the sunken garden and icehouse, and the engraved swing under the great oak, as well as gorgeous pink and purple rhododendron bushes and climbing wisteria.
Drinks receptions can be held in the Archer’s Hall or the Great Hall next to the Long Ceremony Room (perfect for winter months, with its roaring log fire), while the Tithe Barn can host up to 150 friends and family for the wedding breakfast and an additional 50 for the evening reception. Tea and coffee can be taken in the Archer’s Room, which is also useful later as a quiet space or children’s play area while the barn is transformed, and with its white-washed walls and stone floor it’s also the perfect blank canvas.
