All aboard the Murcia wine bus

The famous wine routes of Costa Cálida have now been made even more accessible for newlyweds who climb aboard the Murcia Wine Bus.

The region of Murcia's wine-growing areas, covering a total of more than 87,000 acres, are primarily found in its three designated origin wine areas Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla. Wine production has played a huge part in the region's history and the Murcia Wine Bus is the perfect opportunity to learn about the process and to discover the passion, skill and knowledge behind the region of Murcia's wine.

And now there are tours available for newlyweds to get a rare insight into the region's fantastic wine production with visits to wine-producing bodegas with tastings included, a visit to the natural or historical attractions of the three municipalities as well as lunch (of course, with local wine) and other refreshments.

All tours start in Murcia City and include a qualified tour guide, transport and insurance and the tours are priced at a flat rate of just 59 euros per person.

In the town of Bullas, in the north-west of the region, the Museo del Vino and a visit to the vineyards of the Aceniche Valley are among the highlights, as well as a visit to the Escuela del Vino wine school and tour of the historic hilltop town of Cehegín. In Yecla, there is a guided tour through the historic centre of the town, a guided tour of the winery Bodegas Castaño and tasting of two wines. There is also a wine-tasting lunch in the Sierra Cazorla restaurant and a guided visit to the Archaeological Museum Cayetano de Mergelina to see the treasures of Yecla, from its origins to the Middle Ages.

In Jumilla, the tour includes a visit to Bodegas San Isidro, Bodegas Luzon, lunch in the Duque du Lerma restaurant and visits to Jumilla Castle, the historic town and the Teatro Vico theatre.
